Bohao (Richard) Li
Bohao (Richard) is a Ph.D. researcher in Design Management Group at the Institute for Manufacturing, Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge and a member of Queens’ College. Richard’s research interests including:
• The measurement of design and its role in innovation;
• The theory of product design evolution within evolutionary economics;
• The design-intensive industry evolution;
• Design within science, technology and innovation policy;
• The ‘National Design System’ for technological catch-up;
• Consumer experience model for East Asia consumption market.
Bohao (Richard) has a background in design, business management, and evolutionary economics. He is working closely with inter-governmental organizations such as United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative Cities Networks Shanghai Promotion Office and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) global innovation network on inclusive and sustainable industrial development project etc. He has also participated in several global premier academic events within the innovation studies field such as the SPRU, the DRUID, the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, the R&D management conference, the International Schumpeter Society, Darden-Cambridge Judge-HKU FBE
Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Conference, the UNESCO Creative Cities Network Shanghai International Creative Cities Design Innovation Forum (co-organized with Harvard Business Review) and the Central Saint Martin’s MA innovation management degree show debate etc.
Previously, Bohao was working as an individual consultant for UNCTAD Creative Economy Program, he also has working experience in International Fashion Showcase organized by British Council and British Fashion Council, Adidas Global Creation Centre Shanghai, ELLE brand licensing China, Burberry, Ermenegildo Zegna and Shanghai Expo 2010. He has won several international design awards such as the one collaborated with the Swarovski crystal brand.
Bohao came to the IfM in the Design Management Group as a Ph.D. researcher under the supervision of Dr. James Moultrie.
