Shayma Salih

Doctoral Student

 

Shayma is a research student studying the role of trust in corporate sustainability & business resilience at the Centre of Industrial Sustainability (CIS) under the supervision of Prof. Steve Evans. Given the increased pressure that business face to return to shareholders and operate sustainably whilst surviving disruption - particularly after experiencing the effects of COVID-19 – Shayma seeks to discover how businesses can become more sustainable and resilient through a deeper, enhanced understanding of trust. She uses an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to work on real-world challenges and develop practical solutions for real-world change. In addition to her research, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at Cambridge University Engineering Department and the Cambridge Judge Business School. She also undertakes academic consultancy work, some of her recent projects include:

  • Circular approach to procurement for leading chemicals company.
  • Decarbonisation strategies for mainstream car manufacturer, with specific focus on scope three emissions.
  • Scaling up of the Carbon Literacy Project to local schools in Cambridge.
