Chiara is interested in Human–AI Interaction, with a particular focus on trust in Generative AI and its implications for engineering and innovation. In her current research, she investigates how trust shapes the way individuals interact and collaborate with AI systems. Her work combines perspectives from management engineering with computational methods such as Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, and Large Language Models.
Chiara holds both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Management Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy), where she specialised in Digital Product Innovation. Her master's thesis, Trusting Co-Intelligence: Method and Case Studies on how to manage Human-AI decision making, explored trust in Human–AI decision-making.
She is currently a PhD candidate in Management Engineering at the University of Pisa and a Visiting PhD Student at the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. Her PhD research focuses on the impact of Generative AI on Engineering Education, particularly on trust, skills development, and technological integration.
Alongside her research, Chiara is involved in European projects, working on Generative AI, education, sustainability, and skills. Her broader research interests lie at the intersection of Human–AI Interaction, Generative AI, engineering, and innovation.
During her visiting period at the University of Cambridge, Chiara is based at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), where she works with Letizia Mortara as part of the CTM.
