Yongxu Zhao is a PhD student in the Industrial Resilience Research Group at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr Mukesh Kumar. He holds a BA and MEng from the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge.
Before joining IfM in January 2025, Yongxu gained practical experience in global supply chains and international trade, working as a purchasing manager in industry. His current research investigates how food supply chains can be strategically designed to enhance resilience under geopolitical uncertainty. By leveraging Big Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence, his work explores the interaction between supply chain characteristics and geopolitical mechanisms.
