Regana Vasanthanayagam obtained a BSc (2017) and MSc (2018) in Civil Engineering from the University of Greenwich. Her interest in sustainable construction developed during her dissertation where she worked on two projects. First on 3D printing for Civil Engineering and second on the assessment of early-stage properties of graphene oxide cement composites. The research led to her joining the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Graphene Technology at the University of Cambridge and obtained a MRes degree (2019). She is currently a Doctoral Researcher under the supervision of Dr. Ronan Daly in the Fluids in Advanced Manufacturing Group and Prof. Abir Al-Tabbaa in the Geotechnical and Environmental Research Group. Her research will focus towards studying the coating and embedding of 2D materials into the near-surface regions of composite porous construction materials such as concretes and ceramics.
