Dr Clemens Chaskel is an Industrial Associate and supports organisations in innovation management and strategic planning. He has been working with the IfM since 2010.
He is based in Berlin and supports clients in Europe as well as the rest of the world, working closely with IfM Associates in China.
Clemens brings together a wide range of expertise into his projects, building on both his academic track as well as his previous career in industry. Having worked in various industries for more than 15 years, he understands the need to create impact and drive lasting change.
His core expertise is in strategic technology and innovation management. This means that he not only advises organisations on the right approach, but also works closely with his clients to guide them in the implementation of innovation management practices to drive:
- clarity on dependencies in the innovation system;
- transparency of innovation decisions;
- insights into trends, emerging technologies and new business models;
- justifiable, founded decisions and portfolio selection and prioritisation.
Clemens holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge focussing on strategic planning and the roles that roadmapping and portfolio management play in large organisations. He also holds two Masters degrees in Aerospace Engineering (MEng) and Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (MPhil) from Kingston University and the University of Cambridge respectively.
In addition to his consulting activities, Clemens is also a lecturer for MBA courses at the Steinbeis School for Management and Innovation in Germany. Most recently, he has also taken up the role of CTO in a German FinTech start-up.
Clemens is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
