Graham Bell joined IfM Education and Consultancy Services (IfM ECS) in 2019. Graham is an Intellectual Property Strategy Consultant and Technologist.
Graham has been collaborating with the Innovation and IP Management (IIPM) group within the IfM with a particular focus on developing IP Strategy and the supporting toolsets. Utilising a similar methodology to general road-mapping building effective IP strategies that closely align with organisational goals is key to maximising the value created in IP-centric businesses and adds a crucial missing element to many organisations’ ability to sustain innovation.
Graham is the founder of Cubicibuc, an IP consulting firm dedicated to providing pragmatic commercial and technical advice to organizations engaged with IP-centric business challenges.
Prior to forming Cubicibuc, Graham was Head of Technology at a London-based IP intermediary and transaction firm. As a Technology Consultant, Graham spent 18 years with PA Consulting Group, focusing on product development in telecoms, consumer electronics and automotive sectors. He also has experience of project managing an EC FP6 funded consortium researching Galileo technologies.
His experience includes:
- Acting as an independent expert for international patent litigations and arbitrations
- Supporting complaints to the EU and US competition authorities
- He was a member of ETSI IPR Special Committee
- He has published widely on issues of Standards Essential Patents (SEPs), FRAND and the future of IP licensing, particularly in the automotive industry
Graham has been named in the IAM Strategy 300 (IAM300) - The World's Leading IP Strategists for five consecutive years. He holds a Master’s degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and an MBA and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
