Professor Isabell Welpe

Visiting Academic Fellow

Professor Dr. Isabell M. Welpe holds the Chair for Strategy and Organization at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) School of Management and is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge, hosted by Dr Thomas Bohné and the Cyber-Human Lab. Her research focuses on the digital transformation of organizations and industrial production, the impact of AI and other emerging technologies on the economy, manufacturing, and organizational forms, and the future of work, leadership, and manufacturing.

 

Professor Welpe studied management at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and as a visiting student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and completed an MSc at the London School of Economics. She also serves as Academic Director of the Bavarian State Institute for Higher Education Research and Planning (IHF) and as a board member of the Center for Digital Technology & Management (CDTM). Her work has received Best Paper Awards from the Academy of Management, the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, and the German Academic Association for Business Research, and is regularly covered in outlets including the Harvard Business Manager and MIT Sloan Management Review.
