EXPERTISE
In his current 3 day a week role, Ian supports the whole of the IfM Engage team in their IT and communication needs, alongside the existing Engineering Dept. IT structure.
HIGHLIGHTS
Ian holds a Biotechnology degree from the University of Strathclyde where his thesis was in the biodegradation of oil waste using microbial inoculations. This was later supplemented with a Diploma in Immunology at the same institution. Prior to joining IfM Engage, Ian worked in the reproductive biology field with the MRC and later in Harley Street and Bourn Hall Clinic near Cambridge. This led to a position as a Biochemist technician on Cambridge Science Park. From this role he ‘strayed’ into the IT support world developing as an IT technician before becoming the sole IT manager at a busy building company in Cambridge for many years. In his free time, he enjoys music of many kinds, particularly live concerts and reading lots of fiction with a smattering of science and history. He loves quizzing of any sort be it on TV or by attending one of Cambridge’s many pub quizzes. Golf and badminton remain his last sporting pursuits.
