Dr Viktória Döme
Viktória is an ambitious young researcher aspiring to make an impact on innovation policy by bridging the gap between academia and policymaking.
She has research experience in both qualitative and quantitative analysis in the fields of innovation policy, emerging technology policy and sustainability transitions. Her work heavily draws on systems thinking as she believes that many of the complex issues around innovation policy can only be understood, let alone solved, if system parts and their interdependencies are carefully characterized.
Viktória is currently a Research Associate at the Centre for Science, Technology and Innovation Policy at the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. She works on emerging technology policy, advising UK government departments and agencies on related issues. She is part-time seconded to the UK’s Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT). She has also been working as a consultant providing evidence to inform policy-related projects for stakeholders such as DSIT, Innovate UK, Women in Manufacturing UK, Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
She has received her PhD in Public Policy from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and her BSc in Ecological and Environmental Sciences from the University of Edinburgh. She also studied at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, following which she became a network partner at the Sustainability and Economic Development Collaboratory and worked as a scientist at A*STAR in Singapore. During her studies, she also worked at the Ministry of Environment in Slovakia.
