Software drawing packages are readily available and range from sophisticated CAD packages, through multipurpose drawing, drafting and illustrating packages via multimedia and photographic to specialist flowcharting, brain mapping and other tools.

Most such software is available for IBM PC compatible computers as well as Apple Macintosh, Unix-based and others.
