Production Technology and Materials

This module builds on the content of 3P1 Materials into products and aims to provide students with insight into modern manufacturing processes, with real examples from leading industrialists. In recent years, this has included presentations on manufacturing with lasers, advanced machining, carbon fibre composites for formula 1 components, electronic component manufacture, ceramics production, food production, joining processes, IC manufacture, rapid manufacturing and designing automated assembly systems.
