21st International Conference on Global Manufacturing and China, September 2025 - Hangzhou, China

 

Yanan Wang, PhD Student at CSTI, attended the 21st International Conference on Global Manufacturing and China (GMC), co-organized by Zhejiang University’s School of Management (SOM) and the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Manufacturing (IfM).

 

She presented her early-stage PhD research at the first SOM-IfM Joint Young Scholars Workshop and joined site visits to Zeekr and Unitree Robotics, leading firms in electric vehicles and robotics in China.


 

 

R&D Management 2025 Conference, Jul 2025 - Pisa, Italy

 

Yanan Wang, PhD Student at CSTI, took part in the R&D Management 2025 Conference, where she presented her research on two Singapore-based innovation intermediaries, SIMTech and ARTC, and their role in supporting digital manufacturing in the aerospace sector.

 

This year’s theme, Innovation and Biodiversity, encouraged cross-disciplinary dialogue on how technological progress and sustainability transitions must evolve together.


 

 

 

Invited Seminar on Innovation Intermediaries, June 2025 - Zhejiang, China

 

Guendalina Anzolin, Research Associate at CSTI, was invited to give a seminar at Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, hosted by Professor Simon Collinson.

 

She presented her research on innovation intermediaries in UK, US and Singapore, focusing on the evolving role of these organisations at the regional level.


 

 

GERPISA International Colloquium, June 2025 - Shanghai, China

 

Guendalina Anzolin, Research Associate at CSTI, attended the GERPISA International Colloquium at the School of Economics and Management of Tongji University in Shanghai.

 

She presented her work on electric vehicle developments and related policies. 


 

 

Industry Studies Association Conference, June 2025 - Massachusetts, USA

 

Guendalina Anzolin, Viktória Döme, and Keno Haverkamp presented their research at the Industry Studies Association Conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Their presentations included topics such as innovation intermediaries, electric vehicle policies, and semiconductor foreign direct investment.


 

 

 

UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) Innovation Policy Unconference, March 2025 - London, UK 

 

Eoin O'Sullivan and Viktória Döme were invited to present their work at the Innovation Policy Unconference organised by DSIT. 

 

They presented frameworks explaining why technology-based innovations are complex and why this matters for national competitive advantage.
