The future for manufacturing in the Liverpool area has been examined in a study by IfM Education and Consultancy Services for the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and its partners.

The consultation document was presented at the ‘Making It’ conference on 31 October where the keynote speaker was the Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Professor Sir Mike Gregory spoke about the need to engage in the global supply chain, saying there is a move away from firms concentrating on just one part of the chain, and that it is important to look closely at sustainability in the future.
