IfM professional staff recognised with university award

We are delighted to announce that the IfM and IfM ECS Support Teams have been awarded a 2018 University of Cambridge Vice Chancellor’s Professional Services Award; well-earned recognition of the amazing work that goes into making the IfM such a friendly, collaborative and innovative place at which to work and study.

The Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday 13 December in the Combination Room at The Old Schools. There were 118 nominations in total this year from across the whole University, of which 49 were shortlisted to attend on the day, with 12 awards handed out. IfM’s award was presented in the category of being ‘Open, Responsive and Innovative.’

Head of the IfM, Tim Minshall, Dr John C Taylor Professor of Innovation, commented:

“Each member of the support team demonstrates professionalism and a willingness to go the extra mile…the reason why so many people want to come to the IfM to learn, discover, develop and engage is due to the dedication of every member of the outstanding support team.”

The support team were represented on the day by IfM’s Divisional Administrator Maggie Harriss, and IfM Education and Consultancy Services’ Chief Operating Officer, Kate Willsher. They commented:

“We were absolutely thrilled to receive a Vice Chancellor’s Professional Service Recognition Award, which includes all who support the IfM and IfM ECS. We only knew about it when we were told we had been shortlisted, so were delighted to receive this recognition!”
