The UCI Team attended the PraxisAuril (soon to be Knowledge Exchange UK) annual conference in Blackpool.

This annual conference brings together the community of knowledge exchange professionals including those focused on enabling and facilitiating activities such as technology licensing, spin-outs, research and innovations partnerships with companies, training, and consultancy.

During the event, UCI Director, Tomas Ulrichsen shared insights on evidencing the impact of knowledge exchange, exploring questions including 'why governments need to evidence the impact of knowledge exchange?', 'how do we assemble the evidence of these impacts?', and 'how can we engage effectively with policymakers and stakeholders to ensure their evidence needs are met?'. He particularly highlighted UCI’s close partnership with Research England on improving knowledge exchange metrics and evidence to better demonstrate the contributions that universities make to innovation and economic prosperity.

The question of social value was also explored through a ‘meaningful metrics’ workshop, led by UCI Research Associate, Valeria Ramirez, which focused on measurement projects where social value is a fundamental feature and stakeholder involvement is essential. Additionally, it was a valuable opportunity to collect insights from the KE community on data collection and metrics for KE that can be better captured.
