European Students go head to head in Business Case Study Tournament
This year’s annual competition was themed ‘TIMES’ - Tournament in Management and Engineering Skills. The competition consists of three rounds, and this year the semi-final was organised at the Institute for Manufacturing, by three Manufacturing Engineering students: Emma Crossman, Douglas Byatt and Markos Markides.
Teams of four people from Vienna, Seville, Porto, Munich, Linkoping, Kaiserslautern and Budapest were welcomed to Cambridge to analyse and present their solutions to two case studies. The first dealt with problems in the New Product Development process at Bosch, and the second encouraged teams to formulate a strategic plan for a videogames company in order for them to compete effectively.
The winners were team Budapest, who will travel to Stockholm to compete in the final round in April 2012.
