- How do the capabilities and resources of a place affect the potential of a university’s research and innovation efforts to deliver local impacts?
- What is the balance between investing in initiatives specifically designed to impact the local economy and national / technologically driven initiatives that result in spillover benefits to the local area?
- What types of university strategies are used to increase their impacts on their local economies given their particular circumstances and capabilities?
- What can be done by governments and universities to accelerate the benefits of a university’s research and innovation activities on a particular place?
- What principles should inform the design, measurement and evaluation, and governance and coordination of place-based KE funding in the short (i.e. in the absence of significant sub-national indicators) and long term?
