Timos graduated in 2002 from the University of Patras, Greece, with a Diploma in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. He then received his PhD in 2006 from the University of Cambridge on Computational Engineering Design, and then received his Professional Certificate on Architecture & Systems Engineering from MIT in 2017.

 

Timos is a Research Professor in the Department of Engineering and is a member of the Change Management, Process Management, Computational Design, and Health Systems Design research groups within the Engineering Design Centre.

 

Timos teaches Data and Decision Science in the Manufacturing Engineering Tripos (MET IIB) and Data and Modelling in the Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management (ISMM) programme at the Institute for Manufacturing. He also teaches Practical Optimisation (4M17) in the Engineering Tripos (PIIB). He is a Fellow and Director of Studies in Part II at Homerton College, and a Special Supervisor in Engineering at Newnham College, where he teaches PIB Thermofluid Mechanics.

 

Timos is currently working on systems design and improvement, and the development of next-generation design systems supported by interactive multidimensional data visualisation and Visual Analytics with particular emphasis on socio-technical systems interactions, such as Aerospace and Healthcare.
