Visiting PhD student
Sebastian Kroeger has joined the Institute for Manufacturing as a visiting PhD student in the Supply Chain AI Lab under the supervision of Prof. Alexandra Brintrup. He is pursuing his PhD at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on production networks, data farming, synthetic data, process mining, and data-driven decision-making. His research aims to develop a data-driven approach for value stream analysis and evaluation, which can be used as a decision support for strategic network design. This will enable quick understanding and evaluation of how planning decisions affect operational KPIs within the network, leading to digital network design.
Sebastian holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering, a BSc in Management and Technology, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich. His studies focused on lean manufacturing and logistics, business management, and the digitalization of operations. During his studies, he spent a semester abroad in China and gained industrial experience through internships at Porsche Consulting, BMW, and a Munich-based tech startup related to carbon-fiber-reinforced plastics.
