Soochan received his Ph.D. in the School of Chemical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea in 2021 and his primary research goal was developing novel battery components for high-performance lithium-sulphur batteries. He worked at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Materials from 2021 to 2023 to develop next-generation solid-state batteries with Prof. Mauro Pasta. He is currently an academic visitor at the University of Cambridge in the laboratory of Prof. Michael De Volder and his current research focuses on the fundamental understanding of the degradation of anode-free lithium-ion batteries and the development of solid-state batteries.
