
Romy is an MPhil student completing the Advanced Materials for the Energy Transition (AMET) programme in 2026. She is co-supervised by Dr Svetlana Menkin in the Department of Chemistry and Prof. Michael De Volder at IfM. Her research project is looking into understanding metal deposition for applications in anode-free batteries. She holds a BScEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and is jointly funded by Skye Foundation and the Cambridge Trust at Magdalene College.
