Nadeem Gabbani
PhD Student
Background
Prior to starting his MRes/PhD at Cambridge, Nadeem worked at PocketSpacecraft designing, analysing and advising on aspects such as design, manufacture and testing of miniature spacecraft and propulsion systems.
Nadeem has worked on a number of CubeSat and research projects, including thin-film spacecraft design at Cornell University’s Laboratory for Intelligent Machine Systems. He has also been the lead design engineer for the UKSEDS UKube-1 payload, the UK Space Agency's first CubeSat.
Nadeem received his BEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Surrey in 2013. During the course of his undergraduate degree Nadeem spent a year in Industry at General Electric Aviation working in Strategic Powerplant Engineering. His final year project at the University of Surrey focused on the design and testing of an electrolysis propulsion system for a CubeSat.
Nadeem attended the Cambridge MRes in 2015/16, starting his PhD in October 2016 under the supervision of Dr Krste Pangovski and advisor Prof Bill O'Neill.
