Melanie joined the Institute for Manufacturing as a visiting Ph.D. researcher in the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Lab under the supervision of Prof. Frank Tietze. Her research focuses on the use of patent analysis for data-driven technology foresight. At the IIPM her focus will be on disruptive innovation.
Melanie is a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Technological Trend Analysis and a Ph.D. student at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany, where she also completed her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science. As part of her studies, Melanie spend one semester at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain.
