Jack Foster
Doctoral Student
Jack is a PhD student at the Institute for Manufacturing, which belongs to Cambridge University's engineering department. Funded by the EPSRC centre for doctoral training in agri-food robotics, as well as by Dyson Farming, Jack's research focuses on machine learning methods and their applications to agricultural problems. His background is a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, followed by a master's degree in Robotics. Prior to starting his PhD, Jack has worked as a research assistant on projects in nuclear robotics and in statistical simulations of human neuroimaging data. In his spare time, Jack plays guitar, plays football for Corpus Christi college and enjoys wildlife photography.
