Julian is currently a research collaborator at the University of Cambridge and holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. He conducted his master’s thesis as a visiting graduate student at the IfM at the intersection of supply chain management and blockchain technology by implementing a small-scale blockchain prototype to improve the operational performance of a large industrial partner in the manufacturing industry.
His earlier academic journey has been complemented by an Erasmus+ exchange semester at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, where he concentrated on operations and supply chain strategy. Before his master’s Julian completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) with a major in mechanical engineering.
His professional experience encompasses a range of internships, including positions at several top-tier management consultancies such as the Boston Consulting Group, Strategy& and Simon-Kucher & Partners where he worked across a wide range of sectors and business functions. Furthermore, he worked in the product portfolio planning for Audi AG and the strategy and business development of formerly Siemens Hydrogen Solutions which are now part of Siemens Energy AG.
In his free time, Julian engages in basketball, fitness activities like running or meditation, and traveling
