Leopold is a visiting postgraduate student at the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Lab at the IfM. Under the supervision of Prof. Frank Tietze, he explores the role of intellectual property in remanufacturing and circular product and process innovations.
Born and raised in Zurich, Leopold first completed a commercial apprenticeship as a shipping merchant at a container shipping company in Hamburg. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in Management and Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in the same field. Leopold has a strong interest in new technologies, innovation, and sustainability.
His previous research focused on state-of-the-art circular innovations within the automotive sector.
While simultaneously working for the German OEM BMW in Munich, he particularly enjoyed the intersection of academia and industry.
Beyond his academic pursuits, Leopold enjoys spending his free time on the tennis court or the ski slopes.
