Hooman Abbasi has recently been awarded a Margarita Salas fellowship (Next Generation EU) to join the NanoManufacturing research group led by Professor Michael De Volder.
He finished his PhD in Material Science and Engineering at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in 2019 and has been part of the academic staff of UPC as an Adjunct Professor from 2016. He continued his postdoctoral research studies at UPC as part of the project awarded by Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. His studies focused on fundamental understanding and manufacturing process of high-performance nanocomposites, graphene and carbon nanotube reinforced materials for cutting edge applications. His current research focuses on the development of the novel separators for Li-ion batteries to improve their performance and safety.
