Fangrui (Edison) Li is a PhD student in the Industrial Resilience Research Group at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr Mukesh Kumar. He holds a BA and MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge.
Edison has worked on various industrial projects with leading manufacturers, addressing process optimisation, production quality, and product development by implementing appropriate digital and analytical solutions. Before starting his PhD, he spent two years on the Global Supply Chain Observatory project, developing geospatial analysis/remote sensing tools for digital auditing and building LLM-enabled workflows to extract structured information from unstructured PDF documents.
His PhD research focuses on leveraging the domain knowledge and context awareness of Generative AI and Large Language Models to enable better information sharing and knowledge exchange across supply chains, with the aim of improving decision-making, visibility, traceability, and transparency.
