Prof. Dr. Erik G. Hansen, born 1978, is Full Professor and Head of the Institute of Integrated Quality Design (IQD) at Johannes Kepler University (JKU) Linz, Austria and Visiting Professor at the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM), Leuphana University of Lüneburg, Germany. His research focuses on the management of circular, green-tech, and sustainability-oriented innovations at the level of products, product-service systems, and business models as well as management systems in support of these processes.
He is founder and scientific programme manager of the MBA Sustainable Business & Circular Economy at LIMAK Austrian Business School and teaches innovation in the MBA Sustainability Management at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Germany. He is also a frequent speaker in industry events.
As part of acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering, Erik was appointed member of the steering committee of Circular Economy Initiative Deutschland and Scientific Head of the Working Group on “Circular Business Models”. He is member of the circular economy advisory board of DIN German Institute for Standardization. He served as a mentor in the Schmidt-MacArthur Fellowship programme of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF). He is a member of the editorial board of Business Strategy and the Environment.
Previously, Erik was a Visiting Scholar at Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield University, UK. He gained his doctoral degree at Technische Universität München, Germany. Erik is married and has two children. More information: http://www.jku.at/iqd.
