David is a visiting researcher scholar at the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Lab within the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge, and a Visiting College Research Associate at Wolfson College. In collaboration with Prof. Frank Tietze, he combines patent data with large-language models to study how firms and countries build and defend technological positions.
At the University of Münster, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the Chair for Strategic Management, where he conducts large-sample empirical research at the intersection of managerial cognition, digital transformation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. He earned his BSc, MSc, and doctorate at the same institution, and is also an affiliated researcher at the University of Fribourg's Institute of Management in Technology.
Beyond his research, David is keen to translate scholarly insights into real-world impact. He teaches at bachelor's, master's, and executive MBA level, working with students and managers on business analytics and growth decisions.
