David Learmond works with companies in the areas of talent management, leadership development and organisation effectiveness. He has been working with the IfM Engage team since 2006.
David has a particular interest and expertise in organisational and cultural change, leadership development, high performing teams, and capability development.
With a background in Fast Moving Consumer Goods, he finds this experience translates into most industries and organisations which are fast paced and operate in uncertain environments. Although he is often involved with large global organisations, he also enjoys working with small, medium-sized businesses where the speed of decision-making can be quicker and the impact greater.
David has a strong international business background and was previously Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Greater China for Unilever, a position based in Shanghai. During his tenure at Unilever, he also held various senior human resources, manufacturing and general management positions in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Australia.
He has written, co-authored and contributed to research reports for The Conference Board, the global business and research organisation, including Bridging China’s Talent Gap; Go Where There Be Dragons: Leadership Essentials for 2020 and Beyond; Strategic Workforce Planning in Global Organizations and The DNA of Leaders: Leadership Development Secrets.
He holds an MA (Distinction) in Executive Coaching, a BA (Hons) in Business Administration, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
