Dr Christopher Wilkinson
Operations Manager (Pitch-In)
Dr Christopher Wilkinson is the Operations Manager for Pitch-In – Promoting the Internet of Things (IoT) via Collaboration between HEI’s and Industry – within the IfM’s Education and Consultancy Services at Cambridge. In this role, his work spans both the ECS and the Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory. The Pitch-In Project is a collaboration between Cambridge, Oxford, Newcastle and Southampton, looking at Health and Well-Being, Energy Systems, Smart Cities, and Manufacturing.
Christopher’s primary role for the last 5 years has been in project management; managing a portfolio of equipment worth over £33M for the University of Cambridge. With a background in Healthcare, User Centred Design and User Experience, he has provided services to the Open University, won DFG funding to host and chair the first trans-European expert symposium on technologically-driven rehabilitation in orthopaedic and trauma surgery at the University of Giessen, Germany, and co-authored a successful bid for £250,000 for Early Career Researchers at Cambridge.
Christopher holds a PhD in Engineering Design from the University of Cambridge, and is a member of Wolfson College.
