Dr Christoph Peters
Visiting Research Fellow
Dr. Christoph Peters is a project manager and postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Information Management (IWI-HSG) at the University of St.Gallen in Switzerland and the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Information System Design (ITeG) at the University of Kassel in Germany. Christoph studied Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim, Germany (M.Sc.-equivalent) and at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. Christoph holds a doctoral degree from the University of Kassel, Germany (Dr. rer. pol.).
He has been a visiting scholar and researcher at the iSchool / College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland, USA, the Recanati Business School of Tel Aviv University, Israel, and the Service Research Center (CTF) at Karlstad University, Sweden.
He coordinates several research projects and heads a research group of eight doctoral candidates.
His research focuses on service innovation, the systematic design and management of services and work systems, their digitization and respective business models.
Christoph’s work has been published or presented in high-ranked journals (e.g. JMIS, CAIS) and conferences (e.g. ICIS, ECIS). He serves in the editorial board of CAIS, as associate editor for ICIS and ECIS and as reviewer for many top outlets in the field (e.g. ISR, JSR, JMIS, EJIS, JIT, ICIS, ECIS). Among other prizes and awards, he is the inaugural winner of the AIS Doctoral Student Service Award (received at ICIS 2015 in Fort Worth), was nominated for Most Innovative RIP Paper at ICIS 2017 in Seoul and received the Excellence in Service Innovation Award from ISSIP, category "Impact to Society" in 2018.
Christoph has long-lasting experience in practice, e.g. from SAP SE, and a strong interest in collaborating with start-ups, SMEs and big companies – most of his research projects reflect this.
Christoph is a Visiting Research Fellow at Cambridge Service Alliance until mid of August.
