
Dr. Claus Görsmann (English spelling is “Goersmann”) is a technology advisor and technology expert in automotive emission control. He has also a strong interest in decarbonisation and managing the transition to net zero.
Claus has successfully applied IfM’s technology roadmapping tools during his industrial career at Johnson Matthey Plc. He is now interested in applying the latest versions and new IfM roadmapping tools to delivering projects assisting clients to move their organisations forward.
During 25 years of industrial experience from Johnson Matthey, Claus became a highly motivated, analytical, and strategic Manager with a breadth of experience in technology strategy (non-IT), R&D and technology applications. Has a keen interest in the commercialisation of technology innovations. Claus is a successful innovator with a strong mind for business opportunities and the ability to successfully manage a portfolio of projects. He is driven by ethical behaviour, especially for a healthier and more sustainable future.
Claus studied Chemistry in Germany at the Universities of Hanover and Würzburg and received his masters (“Diplomchemiker”) from the University of Würzburg. He received his PhD in Chemistry (with focus on Inorganic Chemistry) and Material Science after research stays in Industry (Degussa AG) and Yale University from the University of Würzburg. Before joining IfM Engange as Third-Party Associate in December 2023, Claus completed a 9-week online course “University of Cambridge and Climate Change: Towards Net Zero Emissions” from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).
