Corbinian Nentwich
Research Visitor
Introduction
Corbinian Nentwich has joined the Institute for Manufacturing as a research visitor under the supervision of Prof. Ajith Kumar Parlikad. He is a member of the Darwin College, University of Cambridge. His areas of interest are industrial robots, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies and data-driven decision making. His research aims to develop a data-driven system that allows to detect faults in industrial robot gears. In this way, downtimes of industrial robots can be decreased and their useful lifetime can be increased.
Background
Corbinian has obtained his M.Sc. title from Technical University of Munich graduating in 2018. During his studies he completed an exchange semester at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña in Barcelona. The focus of his studies was in manufacturing technologies, planning and scheduling of manufacturing systems and logistics. Besides his studies, he gained industry-related experience in different roles at large-scale manufacturing companies such as BMW and Siemens, or Soley, a data-driven startup company.
