Dr. Zheng Liu is currently a Visiting Academic Fellow in the Asset Management group at the Distributed Information and Automation Laboratory, where she is under the guidance of Professor Ajith Parlikad. She holds the position of associate professor at the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Guangzhou University. Dr. Liu's research focuses on performance degradation analysis, system/structural reliability modeling and assessment, structural fatigue analysis and life prediction, structural fatigue testing, and environmental aging testing. Her primary research interest at present is in composite material wind turbine blades. She has previously been involved in the design and development of large-scale wind turbine blades exceeding a hundred meters in size. Before this, her research encompassed the reliability of mechanical equipment, such as CNC machine tools and cranes. Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Liu is an accomplished industrial designer who operates her own design studio. She has contributed to the aesthetic design of a wide range of products, including automotive products, mechanical equipment, mobile phones, and household goods.
