IfM Invited to Indian Government Seminar - International Workshop on Industry-Academia Collaboration

The IfM was recently invited to contribute to a high-level seminar in Delhi on industry-academia links, hosted by the Indian Government and chaired by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education India.

The seminar addressed three key themes which had been the subject of deliberation by senior industry/academic working groups:

  • Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (focus on manufacturing, defence and sustainable development, and major national goals such as social development, health and water.)
  • Skills and Employability (focus on manufacturing and services)
  • Institutional Mechanisms (for collaboration between industry and academia)

Professor Sir Mike Gregory gave a keynote talk at the seminar explaining the IfM’s approaches in these areas and reviewing recent UK national developments.

The seminar was attended by a good cross-section of industry and academic leaders from across India and identified promising areas for future collaboration.
