Application and Selection

Engineering 1B students and Chemical Engineering IB students should apply in May.

Applications are also welcome from non-engineering science based tripos students but these students will require Engineering Faculty Board approval and, for accreditation reasons, are not permitted to proceed to Part IIB of the degree following IIA. To find out more please email met-enquiries@eng.cam.ac.uk

All interested students should complete the MET application form if you wish to be considered for the course - this does not tie your hands in any way!

Current MET students are happy to be contacted for more information email met-enquiries@eng.cam.ac.uk for details.

Selection is based on interview, a reference from the Director of Studies, and academic record. The course requires the ability to apply engineering principles in a business context. The qualities sought include enthusiasm and drive, communication skills, organisational ability, leadership potential, team-working and inter-personal skills, ability to work to tight deadlines, and a real interest in manufacturing engineering.
