PhD student Na Jiao, and Steve Evans, Na's supervisor, have returned from an International competition in Hong Kong on Second-life for Retired Batteries from Electric Vehicles held by the Environment Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Na proposed “How to maximise the value of second-life batteries for a smarter
demand-side management in Hong Kong: the Cloud Storage System based on the
big data”. The Championship was held at the Hong Kong Science Park on 25th June
and Na won the Best Originality Award as well as the First Runner-up of the
competition.
