Dr Yuzhen Zhu

Postdoctoral Researcher

Yuzhen Zhu is a postdoctoral researcher at the Business Model Innovation group in the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM). His research interest lies in the interactions between emerging digital technologies (e.g., Quantum Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and ICTs) and business transformation/digital innovation. He is interested in using both qualitative approaches (Grounded Theory, Thematic Analysis, Case Studies) and quantitative approaches (Fussy-set QCA, (PLS-)Structural Equation Modelling) to address the topic, and particularly keen on using relational lens such as sociomateriality and affordance theory to understand the digital phenomena. Yuzhen is currently working on an EPSRC project as a Research Associate in Cambridge, during which he will explore and examine the implications of business model innovation resulting from the adoption of Quantum Technologies for firms' productivity and economic growth.

Prior to joining Cambridge, Yuzhen has received a PhD in Information Systems Management from the University of Sheffield in 2023, where his research was focusing on Information Communication Technologies for open innovation and knowledge exchange in the context of European Living Labs. He is keen on establishing professional networks with academics/practitioners for knowledge exchange and collaborations across the global. His research have appeared in top management journals and conferences, and he has actively engaged into professional services as a reviewer for world-leading information systems (IS) journals such as ISJ and other influential IS conferences.
