Background

Tian joined the IfM as a PhD student in the Centre for International Manufacturing (CIM) in October 2007, under the supervision of Professor Mike Gregory and Dr. Yongjiang Shi (advisor). She graduated with a M.Eng in Computer Integrated Manufacturing System (CIMS) and B.Eng in Management Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in the year 2007.

Tian has worked as an intern in manufacturing, logistics and consulting.

• Business Analyst in Opera Solutions (Shanghai) Consulting Company in China to analyze consumer behavior for American Express in Credit Card business.
• Sales in General Electric (GE) in Sensing Devision in China.
• Information Assistant in Ryder Transportation & Logistics Solutions WORLDWIDE to analyze data of the future warehouse design of DaimlerChrysler.
• Industrial Engineer Assistant in Foxconn Group (Shenzhen) in China to make forecast for Orders of IBM and HP.

Tian is honored with Gates Cambridge Scholarship and Overseas Research Studentship (ORS) Award. She is a member of Wolfson College.
