Sungin is a PhD student of Asset Management based at the Institute for Manufacturing and a member of Clare hall

 

Sungin has more than a decade of industry and research experience in the asset management of electrical infrastructure. He was previously working as Senior Principal Engineer and Principal Investigator (PI) in SP Group (SP Power Grid Ltd, SPPG) in the SP Group-NTU Joint Lab in Nanyang Technological University, carrying out two research projects to deliver practical analytic frameworks, methodologies and software tools to bring in risk-based decision-making process into the day-to-day operation of asset management. Prior to joining SPPG, Sungin had been working as a Senior Consultant and Asset Management Service Lead Asia Pacific (APAC) in DNV Clean Technology Centre (CTC), Singapore, being responsible for consulting services of Operational Excellence (OPE) in electrical infrastructure such as failure investigation, condition assessment, ISO 55001 certification, replacement policy development, risk/integrity assessment studies etc. As a professional service to the society, Sungin is a member of Asset Management Technical Committee (AM TC) in Institute of Engineers in Singapore (IES) and member of National Mirror Working Group (NMWG) of ISO/TC 251: Asset Management in Standards Development Organization (SDO), Singapore. 

 

Starting his professional career as condition assessment engineer in Bologna Italy, Sungin obtained his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University (former Helsinki University of Technology) in 2011, Espoo Finland and Dongguk University in 2009, Seoul South Korea respectively.
