Pankaj SoodResearch Interests
BackgroundPankaj Sood is currently reading for his PhD with the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge. He also acts as a key advisor for the McMaster RFID Applications Lab and is an active participant in global standards organizations. Prior to starting his PhD Pankaj led the setup of the first academic RFID Lab in Canada at McMaster University, McMaster RFID Applications Lab (MRAL). While at McMaster he was responsible for leading some of the key projects undertaken by MRAL and developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with industry partners, key government organizations and other academic institutes. He has worked on and provided advice on RFID projects in multiple industries including Healthcare, Retail, Transportation and Manufacturing. Under his leadership MRAL had grown to provide services and develop projects as well as relationships across various regions including North America, Caribbean, South East Asia and the Middle East. Pankaj was also instrumental in assisting with the setup of the Photovoltaic Innovation Network of Canada where he assisted in developing the structure for the network and was responsible for raising over $4.2 Million in commitments from various industry partners and provincial granting agencies. His prior experience includes working for Research in Motion, IBM and Deloitte as well as starting two technology businesses. A passionate entrepreneur, he is actively involved in providing advice and mentorship to various technology startups in Canada and India. Professional Affiliations
