Dr Nikoletta Athanassopoulou

Nicky spent 12 years in high-technology companies before joining the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) as an Industrial Fellow. She has held a number of project management, new product development, technology and business development roles.

Nicky works for IfM Education and Consultancy Services, the IfM's knowledge transfer company. She is a member of the team responsible for developing innovative services to support small and medium-sized manufacturers and high-tech start-up businesses in the UK.

Nicky has worked with many small and medium size businesses helping them to develop their strategy, innovation, technology and product development processes and streamline their marketing and business development activities. She also collaborates with university research groups and EU consortia to develop strategic research and engineering roadmaps to facilitate the commercialisation of novel technologies and new engineering approaches.

Nicky has a BSc in Physics from Athens University, and a MPh and PhD in Solid State Physics from Cambridge University. She has a CMI Level 5 Award in Management Coaching and Mentoring and is a Chartered Physicist and a qualified PRINCE2 project manager.
