Background

Madeleine is from Adelaide in South Australia where she completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering with honours (similar to masters) at Flinders University. She worked for one year within the biomedical engineering department in a public hospital doing maintenance and repairs on electrical medical equipment before coming to Cambridge to start researching for a PhD. She is working in the sustainable manufacturing group and will be looking at the potential for introducing biodegradable plastic disposables to create a more sustainable healthcare system.
