Research interest

  • practical applications of scenarios in decision making in the private sector

Background

Ilaria comes from Italy, where she graduated with honours in Economics and Business in 1994. She has worked in investment banking in London for five years (M&A, Corporate Finance and Leverage Finance) and in private equity in Paris for one year, and holds an MBA (Dean's List) from INSEAD and an MPhil from Cambridge University. Before joining the IfM's Centre for Industry and Government (CIG) in October 2006, Ilaria has worked for three years at the World Economic Forum as a Senior Project Manager in the Business Insight/Scenario Planning team. There she has managed the development of regional scenarios for Russia ("Russia and the World - Scenarios to 2025") and for the GCC countries ("The GCC and the World - Scenarios to 2025" as well as individual country scenarios for Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates), working both in the facilitation of workshops and in the conceptual development and writing of the scenarios.

Current

At the IfM, Ilaria is focusing her research on the practical applications of scenarios to support decision and policy making in the public and private sectors, while continuing her activity as a consultant, working with companies as well as public sector organisations in scenarios and future studies related projects.
