Don Fleet had a long international manufacturing career with Unilever encompassing both senior line management and central support roles. This provided experience of both the management and the design/optimisation of international manufacturing networks.
He returned to Cambridge in 2002 as a Principal Industrial Fellow within the Centre for International Manufacturing (CIM). He initially collaborated with Yongjiang Shi on the GMVN (Global manufacturing virtual network) project. Currently his work is focused on extending the concepts of the DIMC (Developing International Manufacturing Capabilities) into suitable processes and using these to help a number of large companies reconfigure their international manufacturing networks.
Don is a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He holds an MA and PhD from Cambridge and an MBA from Warwick.
