Andi Kuswoyo

Doctoral Researcher

Bio

Andi is a PhD student at the Complex Additive Materials/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) group of the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr. Sebastian Pattinson. The primary area of focus in his research is the utilisation of artificial intelligence/machine learning techniques to elevate the quality and efficiency of the multi-manufacturing process. Previously, his research was centred on the low-cost manufacturing of composite parts. He was heavily involved in experimental mechanics research to evaluate material properties.

Andi completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in 2017. During his studies, he worked on analysing and designing composite panels, utilising a genetic algorithm for optimum design configuration. Before starting his PhD, Andi was an engineer at a UAV manufacturer and moved to ITB to pursue an academic career. His awards include the Jardine Foundation PhD Scholarship and Fast-Track Master Scholarship.
