André Hemmelder

visiting PhD researcher

André joined the Institute for Manufacturing as a visiting PhD student in the Innovation and Intellectual Property Management Lab under the supervision of Prof. Frank Tietze. His research focuses on data-driven strategic decision making in global battery technologies with an emphasis on geo-strategic issues. In particular, he uses data analytic algorithms to examine the European patent strategy in the field of battery research.

 

André is a PhD candidate in Business Chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany, and works part-time in the Patent Strategy Department of the Fraunhofer Research Institute for Battery Cell Production in Münster, Germany. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Business Chemistry from the University of Düsseldorf, Germany. During his studies he gained practical experience in several global chemical companies such as Evonik AG and BASF SE. During his undergraduate studies, André spent a semester abroad in Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica.
